FT Silfies Chooses TMTsoftware

 

Nazareth, PA – FT Silfies, a leading regional mid Atlantic dry bulk carrier has selected TMTsoftware as its asset maintenance management system.

 

“We are very excited with our selection of TMT,” stated Randy Sheeler, President & CEO of Silfies.  “We have been in the market for a suitable maintenance management system and definitely wanted something that would interface with TMWSuites and after seeing what TMT had to offer, our decision got much easier,” added Sheeler.

 

Since the acquisition of Silfies in June 2005 by Quantum Equity Partners LLC in McLean, VA, FT Silfies has come from a trucking company with manual systems to one of the most technologically advanced carriers in the dry bulk industry.  “We have purchased over seventy 2006 and 2007 tractors within the past 14 months as a pre-buy for the ’07 emissions guidelines and while a lot of the work we do is warranty work, we’ve added a different brand of tractor to our parts inventory,” according to Stephen “Butch” Wolf, director of Maintenance for FT Silfies. 

 

“It was very important to me to include the people who will use the system to make the decision as to which software would work best with Silfies.  No one had to please me, they had to make Butch happy because he owns the implementation process and he is the one who will be using it on a daily basis,” added Sheeler.  “I’m most excited with TMT’s Transman Interactive Module which is touch screen work stations to allow for a “push button” paperless shop environment.  Mechanics will have touch screen capability for charging labor, parts and services during the repair order process,” according to Sheeler.

 

FT Silfies plans a very aggressive rollout schedule for its 7 maintenance facilities which will start after the first of the year.
