Silfies Promotes Wolf

 

Nazareth, PA – F.T. Silfies, Inc., a leading mid Atlantic regional dry bulk carrier has promoted Stephen “Butch” Wolf to Director of Maintenance. 

 

“Butch is an icon in the dry bulk industry and has over 35 years experience in maintaining a fleet of aggregate dry bulk hauling equipment and has forgotten more about this business than most will ever learn,” according to Randy K. Sheeler, President & CEO.  “Butch has been an integral part of our growth and success and has led the charge in evaluating the equipment on all acquisitions.  If we like a company and Butch doesn’t think the equipment can be brought to Silfies standards for a reasonable price, we walk from the perspective deal,” Sheeler added. 

 

“A day with Butch is a great lesson for me and our employees.  His charge is that all our equipment should be treated like an airplane……it shouldn’t come out of the shop until he is comfortable that 250 people would be safe on it.  It gets his stamp of approval before it comes out of the shop and we don’t take chances with fixing it long enough to cover a load, it must be DOT compliant and safe,” added Sheeler. 

 

I’m glad Butch is here at Silfies and we’ll continue to challenge him as we grow.
