Silfies Takes Delivery of 2007 Mack “Rawhide”TM

 

(Nazareth, PA) – F.T. Silfies, a leading mid-Atlantic regional dry bulk carrier has taken delivery of a 2007 Mack Rawhide CN daycab. 

                           

“This truck is Mack’s showpiece and there are very few tractors like it on the road today that come directly from the factory with so many chrome and polished aluminum accessories,” stated Randy Sheeler, President & CEO of Silfies.  Mack definitely wanted to make a statement with this truck and while this is definitely not your ordinary tractor we would purchase under normal circumstances in a dirty business like hauling lime, cement and other aggregate products, when you talk to Mike Van Blargan, who will be the driver of the Aztec Gold showpiece, you quickly realize that Mike is no ordinary driver.  Mike’s grandfather, Forrest Thomas Silfies, started F.T. Silfies and Mike takes great pride in the name on the side of his tractor. 

 

“Mike is currently driving a 1997 Freightliner with 700,000 miles on it and it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.  Mike’s truck is a work truck, but it’s a polished chrome and aluminum work truck that has placed in just about every big rig competition in the tri-state area and it’s not even his own tractor….he’s a company driver for Silfies.  When he placed 2^nd in the Carlisle All Truck Nationals last year with a 7 year old tractor and a 10 year old trailer, he started nudging me about a new tractor when he saw that I had ordered a couple new Visions,” added Sheeler.  “He passed on a few of the Mack Visions that we purchased and wanted something unique and different, however I didn’t want his tractor to take precedence over our other driver’s tractors not could I spend anymore on his tractor that others.  Our close relationship with Allentown Mack and Mack Inc. helped make the decision easy to purchase the Rawhide. 

 

In essence, we wanted to make a statement with this tractor that we are committed to our industry, to our customers and our drivers and perception is reality….if you have a good looking fleet and you take care of your tractors and drivers, the trucks attract attention and catch the eyes of potential drivers and new customers.”  Mike’s new 2007 Trail King 1000 cube dry bulk trailer and this Rawhide will make the perfect combination and this truck will make money!
