Our History

 

 

      In 1946, Forrest T. Silfies bought his first tractor to transport coal from the Lehigh Valley region in Pennsylvania.

 

              

 

      In 1959, Forrest transported the first load of cement from the Whitehall Cement plant in the Lehigh Valley and from

      starting out as a small trucking business in Danielsville, Pennsylvania, today F.T. Silfies Inc. has grown to become a  leader

      in the Bulk Cement Transportation Industry.  Today, with a corporate location in Nazareth, Pennsylvania,  F.T. Silfies, Inc.

      has satellite terminals throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions including Fleetwood and Stockertown, 

      Pennsylvania and Manchester, Maryland.

 

              

 

      Today, F.T. Silfies, Inc. is owned by Quantum Equity Partners of McLean, VA.  A private equity firm that focuses

      on the acquisition of privately held middle market companies with sustained growth and significant operating history. 

      Most of the third generation Silfies family still holds executive positions in the company.
