We pride ourselves on our delivery services and make sure that
our deliveries are prompt and on time. We operate 6
days per week, accommodating both short and long haul deliveries
with tanks and flatbeds. With our growing terminal
base, we offer transporting capabilities throughout the
Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. In the world of growing
technology, F.T. Silfies will focus on growing our fleet with
mobile and satellite tracking capabilities so we know where
our equipment is all the time.
At F.T. Silfies Inc., our drivers are our biggest asset.
Many of the drivers our industry is hiring don’t come from a
competitor with
tank truck experience, nor do they have a pump, blower,
compressor, intransit heat, fittings and all of the
other
accessorial equipment some of our tractors require. In most
cases, they have never had the experience pulling a tank
or seen the
many configurations that a tank can be set up with. Does
this make them a bad hire or unqualified? Not at
all,” according
to Randy Sheeler. “Class room experience is essential and
valuable in order to properly and safely operate
the offloading
equipment and understand the harm that some products can
cause, but the first time a driver feels the surge
of liquid or
dry commodities push the tractor, it’s often a wake up call
and a time of tense steering wheel gripping,” states
Sheeler. We
want to make sure our new hires know exactly what they’re in
for and who better to train them than an
experienced
driver who does it every day for a living.
Additionally, we want to hear from our drivers and F.T.
Silfies has implemented a Driver Hotline where we can hear
from
our drivers,
address any concerns or recognize any praises so everyone
can focus on making Silfies the best employer and
service
provider out there. Click here for Driver Hotline Flyer
